Usage

I remember my south indian friend applying "Direct Translation" from his mother tongue (Kannada) to English. We were a group of 5-6 friends who went for dinner at a local restaurant near our college. It was a custom to allow waiters serve our food. While the waiter was serving "hawt" biryani to my "English-Crazy" friend, he requested him to "Put some, some...(direct translation from kannada phrase swalpa, swalpa haaakappa)". At first we were surprised and amused on what he is trying to say. Then we understood that he wanted the waiter to serve little biryani.
