IndiaTimes once ranked this one of the Top 25 Must See Bollywood films of all time. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Jaya Bhaduri and Amjad Khan, this film features tons of plot masala.

Two hapless criminals, Veer and Jai, are recruited to defend the village of Ramgarh from the notorious dacoit Gabbar Singh, played by Amjad Khan, who set the bar high for Bollywood villainry. And Amitabh Bachchan's Jai prepared Bollywood for the angry young man archetype: wronged, pouting, and latently heroic, with a measured seduction of the heroine, who herself embodies noble archetypes of South Asian femininity. Also, Amitabh Bachchan sports one in a series of truly bad haircuts.

Me: It borders on Kurosawa-esque!
