Lame excuses.

English reel of film from the era of 16 mm projectors. Sometimes an improperly mounted film reel would fall off the projector and run away, causing a garbled or distorted picture to be projected on screen while the operator chased the reel across the room and mounted it back. "Reel" therefore refers to an obviously implausible story.

Sagar: Why didn't you make it to my wedding man?
Gappu: Sorry man, I had an accident on Brigade Road, broke my head, then got into a fight with a local rowdy and had loose motions because i ate off too many sopotas...
Sagar (incredulously, rolling eyes) : Reel!
