Definition

Pazham = benana. Although pazhaaaypazham would literally translate into "old banana", this is how vendors at railway stations advertise their basket of goodies. Passionate cries of pazhaaaypazham are usually heard in the same breath with equally nasal and piercing cries of "chooduvadachooduvadakaapikaapeeeyyem" (hot vada, coffee) and "ace kol prooti" (ice cold frooti). A railway station wouldn't be complete without them!
