Although often used to indicate speed of cars or athletes, it is also an estimate of how modern somebody is, especially women. Being fast can both be a compliment as well as the opposite.

Usage

Umesh: Have you met that new girl Subbalakshmi?
Prashanth: Oye, forget her. She is too fast for you.

Definition

Being quite savvy at using terms from physics textbooks in daily language, desi juntae often use this phrase to indicate that there has been a disruption in electric power supply. Probably comes from early victorian usage when Ampere called a stream of electrons as current and hence our juntae use the term to indicate that there is no more a stream of such electrons in the near vicinity.

Usage

Prashanth: Hi Umesh, ready for the test?
Umesh: What ready, macha. Current went off and I could not study only.
