Definition

A rule variant to a cricket game where a batsman is traditionally out only when caught on the full. In this rule variant the batsman can also be out if the ball is caught after one bounce. The rule is usually applied in informal or pick-up games of cricket to shorten at-bats and ensure that everyone gets a chance to take the crease.

Usage

A: Today we are playing tennis ball cricket.
B: OK, cool. I will need to alter my batting technique if we are playing pitch-catch out.
C: If I were you I would concentrate instead on not getting LBW or bowled.
