A favourite punishment amongst the Indian Army training staff apart from rifle-lugging. Front roll is a corruption of the term Forward Roll, most likely borrowed from the Brit army who borrowed it from gymnastics.

The front or forward roll is started from a standing position. The gymnast then crouches down, places their hands shoulder width apart and hands facing forward. They tuck their chin to their chest and place the back of their head onto the floor. They then push off of the floor with their legs and rotate over their head onto their back. The gymnast then presses their feet onto the floor and whips the arms forwards to stand up.

Usage

PK: Hey, have you boys seen DP?
Someone in the crowd: He should be barfing given the 5 rounds of front rolling he's done this morning.
PK: Why? What happened?
Sitc: Boozy caught him taking the super short-cut over the greens, 5 rounds straight. Poor guy, if I was him, I say I'd rather walk the extra mile than have my innards in my mouth.

(Word courtesy - shy Bangalore boy who is varking very hardly to ju-ice up the picturekolity of Radiowaves in said hometown. Has no time to write words-geerds endall.)

See, when fragrant jasmine flowers blossom lavishly in your own frontyard, you dont even notice. Not a hai or a baai or a deep appreciative sniff as you pass by. In fact you make a face at the dust on it's leaves & wish it didnt need this much maintenance (although it doesnt). So if finally, huffy at being neglected for so long, Jasmine decides to uproot itself and shift to neighbouring people's frontyard, entire story will change. You then realise how nice she smelded (i humbly ask sorry from you, I dont know the past-tense of 'smell'. Its not 'smelt', is it?), how good she looked & how much you miss her. Sorrow at your foolishness makes you grow beard & drink all call, while joyous naibars keep off one bhangra-programme to welcome Jasmine into their home.

Pssst: try and re-uproot her after a week i say; 99.99%, foolish naibar would also have fallen prey to 'frontyard's jasmine flowers' syndrome & yuar beloved Jasmine must be pining away for you. (Take bouquet-gikay andall, dont forget)

Usage

Jincymol: Sigh. Muttatthe mullakku maNamilla.
Mincymol (Aye stop sniggering mané. Mallu names will be like this only): I egree. 99.99% of the time it is 100% true.
Sonam: Francch mein baat mat karo yaar! Explain me in 'ngrezzi.
Jincymol: No no, it is note Frenj. I was just saying in Malayalam that ''frontyard's jasmine flowers will not have smell''
Sonam: Haan haan, woh to bilkul c'ractt baat bola tune

The most outrageous oxymoronic expression that you might have come across in English language.

The expression regularly used in news reporting stands for NATO and its allies including Afghan and Pakistani forces firing and killing each other by mistake!

You probably haven't heard of friendly fires in other theaters of war as much as in the Afghan. You know what a friendly cricket match is, a friendly boxing match is, but how would you ever explain what was the friendliness in the act of someone firing at you, a friend, and most certainly killing you?

Didn't the reporters and news agencies think for a second and find another more apt expression? It's the way of that imperial language probably, like during the East India Company times the 'pears soap was made and sold to the brown man but only to clean the white man's burden'

An expression as simple as 'mistaken fire' would have been much humaner than 'friendly fire'.

Usage

" Last evening in Kandahar province of Afghanistan, 4 American soldiers were shot and killed in a friendly fire by a detachment of British soldiers, in turn, the American soldiers tried their best to return the friendly fire to the British not knowing they were British with a bout of great friendly fire but the British soldiers miraculously escaped and the Turkish soldiers nearby became the target of this great friendly fire and lost 12 of their men."

The word is coined by social networking aficionados. Yes the ones who contour the major chunk of Hindustan's unemployed/underemployed mortals. They are mostly found in sub-urban cybercafes and they mostly sit in a group of three or twelve or even more while doing fraaandshipping to make it economical for them and tormenting to the desi lovebirds who dwell and raise families in the adjacent cubicles.

Fraaandshipping done by fraaandshippers and their likes is a group activity. Often, lost but corpulent girls with display pictures of Niagara Falls and tulips on their profiles fall prey to Fraaandshippers.

Usage

"Will you Fraaandship me?"

Arun: Well meanwhile Indians go all out to make themselves fairer. How strange the world is.
Ryan: At least one gets to stay away from melanomas.
Arun: I personally like poking kallus even though in my heart of hearts I see a disapproving uncle looking down on me.
Ryan: Did he have a melanoma?
Arun: But he did poke a dalit servant of his, who also used fair and lovely.
