The origin (according to me) is from Kannada language. There's a very common expression in Kannada language called: "Summa Summane". "Summane" literally 'Just like that'. When someone uses 'Summa Summane', it is a way of confirming that you're not saying something 'Just like that' but with some authenticity.
If someone is spreading some rumors about someone and if you do not believe it, you confirm with that they are not saying is 'Summa Summane'. Literally translated it becomes: "Simp Simply" don't spread rumors about them-ma....
