The definitive guide to South Asian lingo

Definition 1 of 1

The holy cow of all the bath towels at a Tamilian home. They are made of soft absorbent material and assume the status of a luxury product, especially when juxtaposed with plain cloth napkin-like towels (or Tundus, as they are called in Tamil).

Amma: Srini, come here- help me tidy up. Your cousins from the US are already on their way here from the airport.
Srini: Oho. What do you want me to do?
Amma: Aiyo. i cant reach the top shelf. Bring down those Turkish towels we keep aside for guests. I dont want them to think we still use tundus at home..
