Definition

Many Indians have an assigned birth star. The star is the equivalent of the date of a month. Just imagine that the numbers all have their own exotic names. There are 27 stars that circulate through the 12 months of the year. So, many Indians would celebrate their birthdays by the star of the month on which they were born, and not only by the date on the western calendar. Two days to celebrate one birth. Couldn't get better.

Usage

"We do puja on my star bird-day and party on my regular bird-day."
