Street cricket or gully cricket is a stripped-down version of the sport of cricket, popular across the Indian subcontinent and in other cricket-playing nations. Basically any public and private space like a veranda, a deserted bungalow or a narrow "gully" or a balcony is taken over for the purposes of the sport much to the chagrin of aunties whose windows routinely shatter when a ball flies through.
