Definition 1 of 1
Cultural events in schools and colleges feature a very specific set of performances. Among them, a group dance involves a number of people dressed in costumes gyrating to an elaborately choreographed dance, usually set to film music. These are not classical performances, although they might be based on some basic principles of classical or folk.
A number of potential film stars perform in these events - it is their first real platform. Being a part of such a group dance at some point in your career could be a privilege for some and a punishment for many.
