Definition

Colgate is a brand of toothpaste but for the Indian bourgeoisie, it is quite often used as a synonym for toothpaste.

Usage

Middle aged man to storekeeper: Give a colgate.

Storekeeper gives him a Babool (a brand of toothpaste, mostly used in rural India because if you buy one you always get 3 more free and a toothbrush too).
