Back is used to intimidate someone by dropping names (politicians, police or the local goonda among others).
This shows that the person is well connected with the powerful and mighty and others should be wary and back-off, else dire consequences await them

Usage

Sudhir (Class 11th Student): yaar, yeh Rana ka kuch karna padega, meri girlfriend par line marta rehta hai; humara junior hai aur himmat dekh.
Paras: Abe tu janta nahin Rana ki "back" bahut strong hai, pange naa le, bhul ja.

(Sudhir: This kid Rana's our junior, but he's so bold! Hitting on my girl.

Paras: That guy's pull is really substantial! Don't pick fights. Forget about all this).
