Slang for "yeah, right." A relatively new phrase- entered public consciousness only in the late 90s. Very, very popular with kids and college goers. Very different in function from abba, abbaa, and abbo (Telugu is a versatile language :))

Lalli (to Sasi): If i do well, Pappi will take me to Prasad's to celebrate. And if i dont, she will take me to Prasad's to cheer me up.
Pappi: (rolling her eyes) abba, cha!

P.S. Any female character under the age of 10 in Tollywood movies made during or before the '80s was invariably called 'Lalli', or 'Pappi'. 'Sasi' was the DD-8 (the state Telugu channel) equivalent for a young woman.
