The definitive guide to South Asian lingo

Definition 1 of 1

20 2

Clever boy/girl, usually proudly said by Kannadiga adults while somewhat stroking their child's cheek. Also made a significant impact in Kannada movies in the 80s and 90s, but you may not have noticed that because you were distracted by the clothes of the wearer (stroke-inducing capacity of 80s fashion in sandalwood is immensely underrated)

*Auspicious sounding Veena music present in every Kannada movie ever plays in the background*

Hema: Mummy, nange scholarship sikthu!
(Mummy, I got a scholarship!)
Mummy: Jaana!

*Evil neighbour or uncle or cousin with oily hair will do something evil at some point, but then they will be suitably regretful later, and all will be well again.*
