Security guard aka Chaukidhar/ Gorkha. Roots in the Hindi word 'Bahadur', meaning brave which is also likely to be the surname of said guard.
Employed in college hostels in south India they are usually docile old men who rarely look brave. Work in shifts often rotating with colleague who is much younger but less experienced. He adorns a brown monkey cap and sweater after 6pm. Priced armoury includes wooden stick,blanket,plastic chair, whistle,cycle and torch.
